I am very honored to have been nominated for the Johns Hopkins Thumbprint Award. The award is given to individuals that show compassion towards patients and dedication to the Johns Hopkins Medicine Mission on a daily basis. My goal in both nursing and consulting is to be patient-centric, making sure a client or patient’s needs are taken care of every step of the way. I am grateful to have received the Thumbprint Award and look forward to continuing this work for many years to come.

Nomination Recognition

I would like to nominate our Nurse Navigator, Barbara Doherty, for the “thumbprints” award in radiation oncology.

Whether it is showing she cares by spending a little extra time with an anxious patient, or pulling out funds from the sky for a patient in need (we have especially needed her for our new developing Hopkins head and neck service at Suburban), or coming up with new research ideas in nurse navigation, or going the extra mile to put together our new Head and Neck Tumor Board at Suburban, Barb has truly left a positive thumbprint on many of our patients’ lives.
